Obituary

James A. Guerra of Coal Center R.D. 1 died Sunday,Nov.30,1986,in Mon Valley Hospital following a brief illness. He was 60. Mr. Guerra was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Monessen, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Guerra. A Mon Valley resident all of his life, he was a retired supervisor at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Monessen Southwestern Railroad. Mr. Guerra was a member of St. Jerome R.C. Church, Charleroi. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Mr. Guerra was a member of American Legion Post 659, Belle Vernon, Moose Lodge 209, Belle Vernon, VFW Post 3557, Belle Vernon, Monessen Elks Lodge 773, and the Mon Valley Chapter of the National Management Association. Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Pacy Guerra, one daughter, Mrs. William (Michealene) Martin of Long Branch, two grandchildren, Conine and Brandi Lyn Martin, both of Long Branch, and three brothers, Michael and Louis Guerra, both of Monessen, and Joseph V. Guerra of Long Branch. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home, Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday,Dec.3,at 10 a.m.in St.Jerome R.C.Church,Charleroi. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.in the funeral home. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
