Hulda Fay Gates of Westmoreland Manor;Greensburg;formerly of 801 Rostraver St.;Monessen;died Monday;Dec.9;1985 following a lengthy illness. She was 94. Mrs.Gates was born Nov.22;1891;in Monessen;a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Amalong Smock. She was a resident of Monessen most of her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband;Curtis P.Gates Sr.;and by two sons;Curtis P.Gates Jr.and A.Earl Gates. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen. Survivors include one son;Roy R.Gates of Washington Township;two daughters-in-law;Jane Gates of Washington Township and Edith Gates of North Belle Vernon;four grandsons;Dr.Durwin Gates;Alvin R.Gates;Alvin E.Gates and Russell Gates;five great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where services will be held Thursday;Dec.12;at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Thomas St.Clair officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
