Obituary

Walter Gimbara,218 Plainview Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Friday, March 9,1979 at 8:50 a.m. at his residence. He was 63. Born March 13,1915 in Pittsburgh,he was the son of the late Pete and Catherine Gimbara. He resided in the Belle Vernon community his entire life. Mr. Gimbara was a retired employee of the steam department of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel with 39 years of service.  He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Honchalk Gimbara,in 1961,and a brother, Lasch Gimbara,in 1972. Mr. Gimbara is survived by his widow, Mabel McGavitt Lambert Gimbara;two daughters, Mrs. Carroll (Sonya) Tissot of Ohio,and Mrs Kathy Oliphant of Illinois; one son, Patrick Gimbara of Coal Center;seven step-children,Dorothy Crawford of Brownsville,Mabel Perkins,Mary Chimelski,Mike Lambert and Patty Divine,all of Ohio,George Lambert of Coal Center and Jo Ann Good of Waynesburg; one brother, Joseph Gimbara of Alliance, Ohio;three grandchildren and 19 step-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Kluchko,pastor of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church,Belle Vernon,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Leonard J. Parzynski,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
