Mary Irene Govier of 139 Pennsylvania Blvd.,Monessen,formerly of Belle Vernon died Wednesday,Feb.15,1978 at 7 a.m.at her home. She was 78. Born in Braddock on Aug.27,1899,her parents were the late Charles and Marie Davis Anderson. Mrs.Govier lived most of her life in Belle Vernon,moving to Monessen six years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,where she had served as the church organist for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband,John Wesley Govier,in September,1958. Surviving are two sons,John Wesley Govier of Plymouth,Mich.and William J.Govier of Monessen,with whom she resided;five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Charles Colas of First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
