LaVone Marie Phillips Farmer;62;of Monessen;died Friday;Sept.22.2000;in Mon Valley Hospital. Born April 28;1938;in Monessen;she was the daughter of the late Robert and Pearl Phillips. A lifelong resident of Monessen;she was retired from Westmoreland Manor. In addition to her parents;whe was preceded in death by her husband;John R.Farmer Sr.;and one daughter;Denise Farmer. She was a member of Christian Life Ministries of Donora;where she served as president of church ministries. Survivors include three sons;John Jr.of Monessen;Donniel of Garner;N.C.;and Darrin Sr.of Brookville;one daughter;Brooke;of Monessen;four grandchildren;Brittany;Darrin Jr.Channeil and Gabriella;two sisters;Doloris McGraw of McKeesport and Joyce Bonner of Pittsburgh;one aunt;Elizabeth Phillips of Monessen;two godchildren;William Farmer and Kerry Kissie;and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in Christian Life Ministries;Second Street;Donora;where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.;with Elder Robert Holmes officiating.
