Frank Fundy;of North Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;Aug.11;1998;at 11:56 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Monessen;he was the son of the late John and Assunta Santoro Fundy. Mr.Fundy was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. He came to Belle Vernon from Monessen in 1949 and was the founder of Fundy’s Hardware and Furniture Store. He was retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. A U.S.Army Air Force veteran of World War II;he served in Italy and Africa and was a life member of VFW Post 699;Belle Vernon. He was also a member of the Fayette City Senior Citizens;the Italian Society of Mutual Aid of Monessen and the YMCA in Carroll Township. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a sister;Delilah Steeple. Surviving are his wife;Elizabeth Derzy Fundy;with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on June 13;1998;one son;Joseph Krivoniak of Coal Center R.D.1;two daughters;Sandy Fundy of Mt.Washington;Pittsburgh;and Linda Lamb of Severna Park;Md.;two brothers;Fred Fundy of Belle Vernon and Attilio Fundy of the state of California;three sisters;Mary Praskarich of Coal Center;Eleanor Mancuso of Belle Vernon and Loretta Hadjantoni of Michigan;five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by Funeral Mass a 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon;with the Rev.Donald P.Trexler;parochial vicar;as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
