Helen R. Ferguson,72,of 1021 Graham Ave.,Monessen,died Friday,Aug. 21,1992,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Mrs. Ferguson was born July 25,1920,in Warren,Ohio,a daughter of the late Robert and Genevieve Dunnagan Hughes. She retired in 1981 from the Nursing Staff of Monongahela Valley Hospital. Mrs. Ferguson had been a Monessen resident all of her life. She was a graduate of Monessen High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the Mon Valley Nurses Association. In addition to her parents,she was also preceded in death by two sisters,Catherine Stevenson and Frances Ley. Surviving are her husband,James B. Ferguson;two daughters,Mrs. Theodore (Margaret Ann) Organ of New Windsor,N.Y.;and Mrs. Paul J. (Genevieve) Shives of Wall,N.,J.;two sons,James S. Ferguson of Idaho Falls,Idaho,and Thomas F. Ferguson of Clear Lake City,Texas;nine grandchildren;and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Gee Sr. of Monessen. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home,Inc.,Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue,Monessen. A Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in The Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in Mrs. Ferguson's memory may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the Mon Valley Nurses'Association. The Robert A. Billick Funeral Home,Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
