Obituary

Virginia Elaine Fields,50,of 1894 Riggs Rd.,Library,died Sunday,Dec.31,1989,at 3:30 p.m.in Frick Memorial Hospital,Mt.Pleasant.  Mrs.Fields was born Sept.7,1939,in Monessen,a daughter of Amanda Davis Hewitt,who survives and resides in Monessen,and the late Robert Hewitt.  She was a member and first lady of the Second Baptist Church,Mt.Pleasant.  She was also associated with Women Aglow and the Women's Fellowship.  Mrs.Fields also assisted in founding the Facts of Life Outreach Ministries in Monessen.  She worked for the Headstart Program of Westmoreland Human Opportunities.  Surviving are her husband,the Rev.Fred L.Fields,of Library,two sons,Daryle Fields,stationed with the U.S.Army at Ft.Pope,La.,and DeWayne Fields of Library,two daughters,Jassie Harris of Hampton,Va.,and Amanda Ferguson of Library,four brothers,Robert Hewitt of Austintown,Ohio,William Hewitt of Canton,Ohio,Wayne Hewitt of Pasadena,Calif.,and Ronald Gunn of Cleveland,Ohio,and six grandchildren,Julia,Julie,Amber,Megan,Taryle and Arianne.  Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.in the Percy E.Law Jr.Funeral Home,1324 Meldon Ave.,Donora,and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shiloh Baptist Church,Library,where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.James Gilliam officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Percy E.Law,Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
