She was born March 5;1914;in Lockport;N.Y.;a daughter of the late Frank and Maria Nicholanco. Mrs.Filardi was also preceded in death by a brother;Joseph Nicholanco in 1978. She is survived by her husband;Anthony of Monessen;two sons;Anthony Jr.of Fayette City and Richard of Tampa;Fla.;two brothers;Sylvester Nicholanco of Donora and Anthony Nicholanco of Carrick;two grandchildren;Richard and Shawn Marie Filardi of Belle Vernon;and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home;First and Schoonmaker avenues;Monessen. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m.and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m.in St.Cajetan Roman Catholic Church with Msgr.P.Lino Ramellini as celebrant. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
