Obituary

Vernon Faulks,104 Grata Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,April 6,1979,in the Veterans Administration Hospital,Oakland. He was 63. Born April 27,1915,in Stratsboro,Ga.,he was the son of the late George and Nahaley George Faulks. Mr.Faulks had been a resident of the Mon Valley area for the last 45 years. Mr.Faulks was a retired employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel,Monessen plant. He was a veteran of World War II,having served with the U.S.Army. He was a member of the Mt.Calvary Baptist Church,Monessen,and had served as a member of the trustee board. He was also a member of the Okay Lodge No.697,Elks,Monessen. Mr.Faulks is survived by a brother,Floyd Faulks of Monessen,three nieces,Mrs.Edgar (Dorothy) Wilson of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Allen (Diane) Williams of Pittsburgh,and Mrs.Marva Clay of Philadelphia,two nephews,Floyd Faulks Jr.of the state of Calfornia,and Julius Faulks Jr.of New York,N.Y.,and a number of other nieces,nephews and cousins. Friends will be received in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home,645 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Mr.Faulks will be moved to the Mt.Calvary Baptist Church,Monessen,after 5 p.m.Sunday. Elks services will be conducted on Sunday at 8 p.m.at the church. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.at the Mt.Calvary Baptist Church,with the Rev.Griffin E.Mason,pastor,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. William R.Taylor,funeral director,in charge of arrangements.
