Obituary

James L. Echart. 66, of 427 Perry Ave., Fairhope, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born July 31, 1931, in Pricedale, he was the son of the late S. Jackson and Mary E. Wood Echart. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area, Mr. Echart was a member of Pricedale Union Church. He worked for many years at the Clairton plant of U.S. Steel and several area finance companies, then retired in 1993 from Corning Glass, Charleroi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott Echart, in 1976. Surviving are his wife, Erma G. Lynn Echart, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on Nov. 12, one son, James L. Echart of Greensburg, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce and Dr. Robert Kantor of Harrisburg, Debbie and Paul DeVito of Philadelphia and Sherri R. Echart, at home, three brothers, Charles Echart of Pricedale, Clarence Echart of Belle Vernon R.D.4 and Raymond Echart of Belle Vernon, one sister, Doris Bush of Pricedale, and three grandchildren, Katie and Andrew Kantor and Anthony DeVito. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.,with the Rev.James Mimidis,pastor of the Pricedale Union Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
