Obituary

Mary Ann Katchmark Ercegovich,64,of 10 Ohio St.,Pricedale,died Thursday,July 10,1997,at 7 p.m. in St.Francis Central Medical Center,Pittsburgh. Born Oct.6,1932 in Pricedale,she was a daughter of the late Walter and Teresa Popovich Katchmark. A lifelong resident of Pricedale,she was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon,the Legion of Mary and Third Order of St.Francis. Mrs.Ercegovich retired as postmaster at the U.S.Post Office in Pricedale in 1993. A graduate of Rostraver High School,she was a member of the National Association of Postmasters. Mrs.Ercegovich was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and the AARP. She had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and also served as a volunteer with various area food banks. Survivors include her husband,Anthony Ercegocich,one son,Tony Ercegovich of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.Jeffrey (Mary) Krett & Roberta Vitale,both of Belle Vernon,two grandchildren,Jacque & Kelly Casoni,one brother,Robert Katchmark of Yucca Valley,Calif.,and five sisters,Mrs.Boyd (Katherine) Hamilton of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Jim (Dorothy) Hathaway of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Leon (Betty) Ambler of Pricedale,Mrs.Thomas (Pearl) Snyder of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Dale (Edith) McQuillis of Newell. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by a sister,Pauline Cummins. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by funeral mass at 10 am. in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.E.George Saletrik,parochial vicar,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
