Julius Evans;70;of Johnson Ave.;Pricedale;died Thursday;June 6;1991;at 5 p.m.in Westmoreland Hospital;Greensburg. He was born in Pricedale;Rostraver Township;on Aug.26;1920;a son of the late Ziga and Elizabeth Herbai Evans. Mr.Evans was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle Church in Monongahela. He had been a lifelong resident of Rostraver Township. He retired from General Motors;Fisher Body Division;in 1982. Mr.Evans held memberships in the National Rifle Association and the Pennsylvania Trappers Association Inc. A veteran of World War II;he had served in the South Pacific in the Seabees of the Navy. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his brother;John (Sonny) Evans. He is survived by his wife;Nancy Vantine Evans;a daughter;Mrs.Thomas C.(Judy) Buchanan of Belle Vernon;two brothers;Stephen Evans of Belle Vernon R.D.3 and William J.Evans of Monessen;two sisters;Margaret Such of McKeesport and Emma Jene Lelik of Donora;society editor for The Valley Independent;and one grandson;Brian Buchanan. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.;when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev.Emory Nazelrod of the Calvary Tabernacle Church of Monongahela;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
