Obituary

Julius Evans,70,of Johnson Ave.,Pricedale,died Thursday,June 6,1991,at 5 p.m.in Westmoreland Hospital,Greensburg. He was born in Pricedale,Rostraver Township,on Aug.26,1920,a son of the late Ziga and Elizabeth Herbai Evans. Mr.Evans was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle Church in Monongahela. He had been a lifelong resident of Rostraver Township. He retired from General Motors,Fisher Body Division,in 1982. Mr.Evans held memberships in the National Rifle Association and the Pennsylvania Trappers Association Inc. A veteran of World War II,he had served in the South Pacific in the Seabees of the Navy. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his brother,John (Sonny) Evans. He is survived by his wife,Nancy Vantine Evans,a daughter,Mrs.Thomas C.(Judy) Buchanan of Belle Vernon,two brothers,Stephen Evans of Belle Vernon R.D.3 and William J.Evans of Monessen,two sisters,Margaret Such of McKeesport and Emma Jene Lelik of Donora,society editor for The Valley Independent,and one grandson,Brian Buchanan. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev.Emory Nazelrod of the Calvary Tabernacle Church of Monongahela,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
