John E. (Jack) Eversburg,57,of Fairhope, Belle Vernon,died Friday, Jan. 20,1989,at 11:15 pm. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township,following a lingering illness. Mr. Eversburg was born Feb. 23,1931,in North Charleroi,a son of the late Rudolph and Catherine Rade Eversburg. He was an employee of the USX Irvin Works in Dravosburg. Mr. Eversburg was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion Post No. 659,both of Belle Vernon; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post,Fairhope,and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. A daughter, Gloriann Eversburg,died in 1961. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Sukel Eversburg; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Leslie) Pierce of Belle Vernon and Mrs. John (Mary Catherine) Barton of Hopewell; two granddaughters, Nicole and Alison Pierce,both of Belle Vernon; three brothers, Francis Eversburg of Fairhope, Belle Vernon,Stephen Eversburg of Belle Vernon and Robert Eversburg of Alexandria, Va., and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Valari of Bensalem and Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Nash of Arlington, Va. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City. A Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
