Mary E. Echart,90,of 209 Johnson Ave.,Belle Vernon,died of a massive heart attack as she walked to Christmas services at Pricedale Union Church at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25,1988. Mrs. Echart was born April 21,1898,in Fairchance,a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Elizabeth Lewis Wood. A resident of Pricedale since 1929,she was a member of the Pricedale Union Church. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Jackson Echart;four sisters,including Mae Reese,who raised Mrs. Echart from childhood;nine brothers and three grandchildren. Survivors include four sons,Charles Echart of Pricedale,Clarence Echart of Belle Vernon R.D.4,and Raymond and James Echart,both of Belle Vernon;one daughter,Mrs. Cliffford (Doris) Bush of Pricedale;several nieces and nephews,including Gwendolyn Wood,who made her home with Mrs. Echart;14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David R. Reeves Jr.,pastor of the Pricedale Union Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
