Phoebe Duvuvuei,87,of 3141 W. 68th St.,Cleveland,Ohio,died Saturday,Feb.19,1994,at 1 a.m. in St. John's West Shore Hospital,West Lake,Ohio. She was born July 9,1906,in Pricedale,a daughter of the late Thomas and Etta Roe Scanlon. A member of Bethel Nazarene Church of Cleveland,Mrs. Duvuvuei was a charter member of the Belle Vernon Nazarene Church. Formerly of Pricedale,she had lived in Ohio the past 30 years. In 1986,she retired as a building superintendent. She was a former employee of the old Gemmil Hospital in Monessen. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Vila Duvuvuei,who died Aug. 2,1982;three sisters,LaVerne Dregella,Irene Stricklin and Margaret Perry and one brother, Thomas Scanlon. Survivors include one son, Vila "Bud" Duvuvuei of Belpre,Ohio;two daughters,Betty Lou Buchanan Cyrus of Cleveland and Lois May McNab of Euclid,Ohio;one brother,Harry Carney of Belle Vernon;nine grandchildren;nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,where services will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Charles A. Kohr of the Belle Vernon Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
