Obituary

Joseph G. Kostolansky, 77, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 15, 1937, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Helen Hega Kostolansky. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 50 years, Mr. Kostolansky was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, and was a retired railroad engineer from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant. Joseph was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the U.S. Army, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing baseball, fast-pitch softball and basketball. He is survived by his wife, Carole Kuvinka Kostolansky to whom he was married 50 years; a son, Joe-Jon Kostolansky of Belle Vernon; and a sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Chet Dera of Belle Vernon. He is preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Kostolansky. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m. followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church officiating in the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
