George Magatz, 67, of Monessen, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born September 20, 1958 in N. Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late George and Mildred Beck Magatz. A lifelong resident of Monessen he was retired from the City of Monessen Public Works Department with 36 years of service. George was a former member of the Monessen Elks, current social member of the Monessen Hilltop Fireman's Club and the Monessen Eagles Club. He enjoyed going camping at Cooks Forest, West Virginia and the Great Lakes area and traveling on beach vacations at Ocean City, MD and in Florida.
He is survived by his wife Karen Mitchell Magatz to whom he was married 42 years; brother in law Richard Mitchell of North Belle Vernon and numerous nieces & nephews.
Private family visitation was held Tuesday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by funeral mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael Thomas as celebrant. Interment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
