Marian E.Driscoll of John the 23rd Home for Senior Citizens;Hermitage;formerly of Clark Street;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;Aug.3;1988 in Sharon Hospital. She was 77. Miss Driscoll was born Aug.23;1910;in Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township) a daughter of the late Edmond Driscoll;who died in 1963;and Alice Shaffer Driscoll;who died in 1969. Miss Driscoll had been a resident of John the 23rd Home since 1983;spending most of her life in Belle Vernon;where she was a lifelong member of St.Sebastian Church. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court 1322. She had attended Rostraver High School and was a graduate of Monessen High School and the Bertha Leonard Business School in Charleroi. Miss Driscoll retired in 1972 after 35 years of service with the Rostraver Township and Belle Vernon Area School districts. She had served as board secretary in both school districts;and was secretary to the superintendent in both districts;working under three superintendents. Survivors include one brother;J.Bernard Driscoll of Washington;Pa.;three nieces;three great-nieces and two great-nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a prayer service will be held Saturday;Aug.6;at 10:30 a.m.;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
