Burnita Lillian Dews of 121 Branthoover Ave.;Arnold City;died Thursday;Oct.18;1984;in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was 60. Mrs.Dews was born Oct.3;1924;in Mongo;a daughter of the late Arthur Walker McCarthy and Lillian McCarthy Barnes. She had been a Belle Vernon resident most of her life. Mrs.Dews was a member of Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;and the Friends Club and Deaconess Board of the church. She had been a former member of the Usher Board of the church. Survivors include her husband;James Dews;two sons;Darrel Wilcox and William Dews;both of Rochester;N.Y.;one daughter;Karen Smith of Brooklyn;N.Y.;a brother;William Barnes of Belle Vernon;a sister;Ernestine Freeman of Monessen;and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;on Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. The body will lie in state at the church until services are held there on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Luther Wormack officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral home is handling the arrangements.
