Obituary

Santo Digioia of 630 S.14th St.,Monessen,died Tuesday,May 10,1983,at 7:30 a.m.at his home. He was 82. Mr.DiGioia was born July 6,1900,in Napoleonville,La.,a son ot the late Antonino and Guiseppa Biondolilo DiGioia. He was a member of St.Cajetan Catholic Church,Monessen Sons of Italy and the Italian Society of Mutual Aid. Mr.GiGioia retired in 1966 from the fence department of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Monessen Plant. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers,Charles and Vincent DiGioia,one sister,Theresa Drago,and a grandson,Anthony DiGioia in 1960. Survivors include his widow,Virginia Serriano DiGioia,two sons,Anthony of Monessen and Philip of Monongahela,one daughter,Jose M.Lacovangelo of Monongahela,seven grandchildren,one great-grandchild,and three sisters and two brothers in Italy. Friends will be received in the Raymond D.Dalsonso Funeral Home,441 Reed Ave.,Monessen,Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing Service will be Friday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Cajetan Roman Catholic Church,Monessen,with the Rev.P.Lino Ramellini,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parush Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
