Harry E.Daugherty;of 605 Locust St.;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;July 7;1982;at 12:52 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 66. Mr.Daugherty was born April 5;1916;in Clairton;a son of the late Philip and Addie McGavitt Daugherty. He retired in 1976 from employment as a brakeman with the Southwestern Railroad of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Daugherty had been a resident of the Belle Vernon community for more than 50 years. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. Mr.Daugherty was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church and American Legion Post 659;both of Belle Vernon;and the Monessen Croatian Club. Survivors include his wife;Mary Martz Daugherty;at home;one son;Robert Harry Daugherty;of Dormont;Pa.;two daughters;Mrs.Earl (Virginia) McManus of Chesapeake;Va.;and Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Unger of Phoenix;Ariz.;a brother;Thomas Daugherty;of Terre Haught;Ind.;four sisters;Mrs.Hugh (Bertha) Kissler of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Elizabeth Willingham of Woodlake;Calif.;Mrs.Helen Fullard of Munhall and Mrs.Henry (Betty Lou) Teska of Perryopolis;and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Friday from 12 noon;until 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Belle Vernon Court 1522;Catholic Daughters of America;will hold services Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will hold services Friday at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home. A Prayer Service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m.in the funeral home followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers;the family suggests memorial contributions in Mr.Daugherty’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
