Obituary

Louis S.DeHosse,56,of 424 First St.,Monessen,died Monday,Jan.12,1981,at 10:10 a.m.on admission to Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.DeHosse was born Aug.7,1924,in Charleroi,a son of the late Louis B.DeHosse and Jennie DeHosse Frye,who survives. He was stricken while working at the Monessen Office of the Pennsylvania and Lake Erie Railroad,where he was employed as a traveling agent. Mr.DeHosse was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. A life-long musician (he played the tuba),Mr.DeHosse was a member of the Mon Valley Retired Steelworkers (MARS) Band,the Monongahela Community Band,the Uniontown Concert Orchestra,and the Charleroi Musical Society. He was also a member of the F&AM Lodge No.638,Monessen,and the Valley Consistory and Syria Temple Shrine,both of Pittsburgh. Surviving,in addition to his mother,is his wife,Leatrice Blevens DeHosse,at home,a step-father,Audley Frye,a sister,Mrs.Ronald (Marlene) Toth,of Vestal,N.Y.,a niece and nephew. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Chapel,with the Rev.Howard A.Greenfield III,pastor,First United Methodist Church,Monessen,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
