Mary K.Cook,90,of 435 Reed Ave.,Monessen,died Thursday,March 4,1999,in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Nov. 25,1908,in Conneaut Lake,Pa.,a daughter of the late Peter and Maude McGuire Groger. Mrs Cook was a homemaker and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen. Besides her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Melvin H. Cook Sr.;by a son,Robert Cook;a granddaughter,Kim Cook;three brothers, Ernest,Thurmond and Francis Groger;and two sisters, Dorothy Holton and Cecelia Clark. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law,Joan and John Torok of Monessen,Mary and Bill Holzapfel of Charleroi and Patricia and Leonard Staley of Finleyville;two sons and one daughter-in-law,Melvin H.Cook Jr.of New Eagle and James and Sandy Cook of Belle Vernon;one brother,Lawrence Groger of Butler;two sisters, Myra Millard and Isabel Steele,both of Conneaut Lake;19 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Tthe Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
