Mr. Conn was born Dec. 17;
1912; in Dawson; the son of the
late Ross and Rosa Rossi Conn.
A long time resident of Belle
Vernon; he was a foremen for
the basic oxygen furnace plant
of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel’s
Monessen plant until his retirement in 1975. He was a veteran
of the U.S. Army and served in
the Philippines during World
WarH.
He was a member of St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic
Church in Belle Vernon; American Legion Post 659 in Belle
Vernon; and was a former member of the Mon Valley Retirees
Bowling League and the American Legion Bowling League.
He is survived by a son;
Eugene Conn of Monessen; a
daughter; Phyllis Saxburg Morgan of North Huntingdon; one
brother; Lewis Conn of Monessen; seven grandchildren; David Saxburg; with whom he
lived; Eugene Conn Jr.; Renee
Conn and Loree Conn of Monessen; Scott Saxburg; Myersdale;
and Chris and Jennifer Saxburg; both of North Huntingdon; five great grandchildren;
John and Derek Conn; both of
Monessen; Daniel and Dylan
Saxburg of North Huntingdon
and Austin Saxburg of
Myersdale.
Besides his parents; he was
preceded in death by his wife;
Genevieve A. Fazio Conn in
1987; and two brothers; Anthony Conn and Ralph Conn.
Friends were received Sunday and will be received Monday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;
700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon;where a Prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
