Obituary

Edith Amalong Cook, 80, of
Belle Vernon, died Thursday,
July 23, 1998, in Meridia Ambulatory Care, Sagamore,Ohio.
Mrs. Cook was born Aug 4,
1917, in North Charleroi,the daughter
of the late Robert and
Nellie McQuiston Amalong
A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon,
she was a deacon for
First Presbyterian Church,
Belle Vernon, where she was a
member of the Women's Association and the HOA Class. She is survived by four sons,Earl Y. Cook Jr of Macedonia,
Ohio, Ronald W. Cook of Jacksonville.
Fla., the Rev David I.Cook of Belle Vernon and Sgt.
Gary Cook of the U S Army,
two brothers, Jerry Amalong of
Cleveland, Ohio and Wendell
Amalong of California. Pa , one
sister, Dolores Wanda of Cleveland,
Ohio, nine grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband,
Earl Y. Cook Sr. in 1969
and one brother, Robert
Amalong.
Friends will be received on
Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski
Funeral Home, 626
Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Additional
visitation will be on Monday
from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,where services will be held at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Richard Klein Jr.,pastor of Rehoboth United Presbyterain Church,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
