Virginia M. Calderone, 87, formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 in McKeesport Select Specialty Care. A daughter of the late Bernard J. and Margaret Mulvaney Davis, she was born in Fairhope on December 31, 1929. A member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon, she had resided in Charleroi the past several years and was formerly of Belle Vernon. From 1965 thru 1974, Virginia was a long distance operator in Charleroi and then was employed at the former Bettis Atomic Lab in the tech library until her retirement in 1992. Survivors include five daughters and five sons-in-law, Christine and Richard Giannamore of Webster, Candice and Brian Sokol of Rostraver, Maureen and Michael Matras of Perryopolis, Marilyn and Robert Gilmore of Wickhaven and Margaret and Marc Pomeroy of Lighthouse Point, FL, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alan and Marianna Calderone of Belle Vernon and Ronald Calderone of Clarion, one sister, Carole Dominico of Camp Hill, her best friend, Mildred Roberts of Charleroi, 17 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren, four step great great-grandchildren, and her former husband, Ridsy Calderone of Rostraver Twp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia in 1966, a sister, Bernadine Sylvester and two brothers, William ‘Barney’ Davis and James Davis. Church with Rev. James Bump as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 3 P.M. Tuesday led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
