Willard E. Hamer, 83, of Twilight, passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, in the Meadowcrest Care Center, Bethel Park. He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Fairhope, the son of the late Richard and Honor Breakwell Hamer. Will was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, in 1982. Will is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet Willey Hamer; a daughter, Linda DeGregorio and husband, John, of Speers Hill; a son, Philip R. Hamer and wife, Tina, of Beverly Hills, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dr. John Rapano of Uniontown. In addition to his parents, Will was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandy Rapano, Susan Rose; a granddaughter, Carrie Ann Rapano; a sister, Emogene Dunn; and two brothers, Allan Hamer and John Hamer. Friends will be received Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Prinkey officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
