Andy (Big Andy) Shesniak; 77 of Fayette City R.D.1; died Thursday;March 2; 1992; at 9:10 a.m. in Mon-Valley Hospital; Carroll Twp. after a lengthy illness. Mr. Sheainak was born Nov. 16; 1914 in Jersey City; N.J.; a son of the late Paul and Catherine Kowalchak Chesniak. He was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Hillman Transportation Corporation. Mr.Shesniak was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church; Fayette City: the Naomi Athletic Club; the Fayette City American Legion; the Slovak Club in Gillespie; and the Polish National Alliance Club of Arnold City.
Surviving are his wife; Mildred Corcoran Shesniak; one brother; Emil Chesniak; of Chicago; Ill; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home; Fayette City; on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and all day Sunday until 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by a 10 a.m.Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Richard E.Mackiewicz;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited Sunday at 3 p.m.in the funeral home. A Church Prayer Service will be held at 4 p.m.Sunday in the funeral home.
