James Ernest Carrick;66;of 100 Main St.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Dec.29;1990;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. He was born in Belle Vernon on Feb.18;1924;a son of the late James and Ellen Crichton Carrick. Mr.Carrick was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion and a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. He was retired from the clerical department of the Allenport plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in 1979. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr.Carrick is survived by two sons;James G.Carrick of Racine;Wis.;and Randall Paul Carrick of Charleroi;a daughter;Mrs.Edward (Karen) Pottgeiser of Charleroi (Speers Hill);six grandchildren;and a brother;Dr.George Crichton Carrick of Bethel Park. Friends were received on Sunday and will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Frank J.DePolo of the Covenant Christian Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A service by the Belle Vernon American Legion will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
