Thelma J. Govier, 91, of Monessen, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Manor Care of Bethel Park. A daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Blythe Shearer, she was born in Newell on March 19, 1925. A resident of Monessen since 1951, Thelma was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and had been employed for 16 years for Dr. Perrone in Greensburg until her retirement in 1978. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Davies of Bethel Park, one daughter-in-law, Candace Govier of Smithville, MO, four grandchildren, William Richard Davies and his wife, Karin, Michael Davies and his wife, Heather, Jeff Davies and his wife, Christine and Kimberly Jackson, six great-grandchildren, Steel, Skyler and Kylie Jackson, Justin and Michael Davies and Ivy Stanford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. 'Bill' Govier on June 16, 2011, one son, Frank Govier on July 21, 2016 and a brother, Rollin Shearer in 1981. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon.

Suzanne Currie officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The officers and members of the First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home to hold services at 7 P.M. Tuesday. If friends wish, memorial donations may be made to Thelma's church.
