Obituary

Walter Earl Carson of 901 Amelia Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,June 13,1986,at 10 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital.  He was 85. Mr. Carson was born Nov. 7,1900,in Dunlevy,a son of the late William B. and Mary Stoffel Carson.  He was a member of the Smithton Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Carson had worked 23 years for the Monessen Southwestern Railroad of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation before retiring in November 1965. In addiiton to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Greene Carson,Dec. 9,1956. Survivors include one daughter,Carolyn Carson at home; three sisters-in-law,Bertha and Sadie Carson,both of Charleroi R.D., and Hazel Price of Belle Vernon and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, where services will be held Monday,June 16,at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Akester, former pastor of the Smithton Church of the Nazarene,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
