Evelyn Jones Carson of 44 Zundel St.;Pricedale;died Wednesday;May 7;1986;at 8 a.m.in the Birt Personal Care Facility;Uniontown. She was 90. Mrs.Carson was born April 19;1896;in Scott Haven;a daughter of the late James Henry and Sally Jones. She had been a resident of the Pricedale and Arnold City area all of her life. Mrs.Carson was a member of Pleasant Green A.M.E.Church;Pricedale;where she was an active member of the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Board. She was also Mother of the church until she became ill. In addition to her parents;Mrs.Carson was preceded in death by her husband;Elliott Carson Sr.;1963;two sons;John V.Carson and Floyd Carson;and two brothers;James Henry Jones and Leroy Jones. Survivors include two sons;James Carson of Chicago;Ill.;and Elliott (Finley) Carson Jr.of Arnold City;one daughter;Oscar (Ida) Gordan of Pricedale;with whom she made her home;six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Pleasant Green A.M.E.Church;Pricedale;where services will be held Saturday;May 10;at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Donald Clisby;pastor of the church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home;Monessen;is in charge of arrangements.
