Obituary

Louis V.Coccari of 1220 Athalia Ave.,Monessen,died Monday,May 3,1982,at 6:20 a.m.in Presbyterian University Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 65. Mr.Coccari was born Dec.8,1916 in Monessen,a son of the late Domenick and Mary Arabia Coccari. He was a member of St.Cajetan Roman Catholic Church,Monessen,and the Legion of Mary. He was a retired school teacher,having taught for several years in the Monessen school system. Mr.Coccari was also a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association,National Education Association,National Retired Teachers Association,American Legion Post 28 of Monessen,Air Force Retired Officers Association,Order Sons of Italy of Monessen,and the Italian Society of Mutual Aid. A veteran of World War II,he served as a captain in the 3rd Air Force,379th Air Force Base Unit. In addition to his parents,Mr.Coccari was preceded in death by two brothers,Joseph Coccari in 1919,and Edward Coccari in 1949. Survivors include his widow,Theresa Angotti Coccari,one son,Dr.Ronald Louis Coccari,an associate professor at Cleveland State University,two grandchildren,Alisa Marie and Gina Marie,three brothers,Ernest Coccari of Monessen,Lt.Col.Retired James Coccari of Sun City,Calif. and Robert F.Coccari of Fayette City R.D.,and two sisters,Mrs.Frank (Lena) Venneri of Greensburg and Mrs.Edith Alexander of Monessen. Friends will be received in the Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral Home,441 Reed Ave.,Monessen,on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Cajetan Church with the Rev.P.Lino Ramellini as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Parish Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
