Obituary

Theodore P. Ted Belsick, 79, of 1219 Fayette Ave., Belle Vernon, died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, in Brownsville General Hospital. Born Sept. 5, 1918, in Arnold City, he was the son of the late Joseph and Blanche Vail Belczyk. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area, Mr. Belsick was Catholic by faith. He retired in 1976 from Mathies Mine and was a member of United Mine Workers of America. He was also a member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club and the Gibson Seven Hunting Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Wassilchalk Belsick, who died May 16, 1983, one brother, Dom Minnitti, and three sisters, Carrie Belsick, Ann Heisler and Julia Fallenstien. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Darla Belsick of Belle Vernon and James and Anita Belsick of Greenville, S.C., five grandchildren, Arthur Belsick of Spartansburg, S.C., Darrin Belsick of Belle Vernon, Carolyn Simmons of Greenville, S.C., Dale Belsick of Belle Vernon and Theodore Belsick of Greenville,S.C.,and three great-grandchildren,Kyle Belsick and Stephanie Belsick and David Simmons,and one brother,John Minnitti of Phoenix,Ariz. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home,with the Rev.John C.Park,pastor of Marion Presbyterian Church,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
