Obituary

Madeline M.Neil Burrows,85,of 431 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,April 14,1997,at 2:20 a.m.in Sphar's Personal Care Home,Belle Vernon. She was born Nov.22,1911,in Belle Vernon,a daughter of the late Clyde and Millie Williams Neil. Mrs.Burrows was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law,Dorothy and Robert Sterdis of Belle Vernon,with whom she made her home,a son and daughter-in-law,James and Eleanor Burrows of Rostraver Township,two sisters-in-law,Yola Neil and Lois Burrows,six grandchildren,Bob Sterdis,Angela Burrows,Carol Walkush,Donna Shrum,Nancy Baker and James Burrows Jr.,and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,James Burrows,in 1936,three brothers,R.Edward Gillespie,Earl Gillespie and Clyde Neil,and one sister,Sadie Winstone. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m.in the First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.Frank Sgromolo,pastor,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
