John D.Brickey;80;of 727 Green St.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Nov.24;1994;at 6 a.m. in Millie K’s Personal Care Home;Belle Vernon. Born Sept.30;1914;in Townsend;Tenn.;he was the son of the late George and Martha Brickey. Mr.Brickey lived in Belle Vernon the past 24 years and was formerly a resident of the state of California. He was a member of the National Maritime Union;where he was a Merchant Marine Able-Bodied Seaman. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Ruby Brickey;in 1966;and a son;Ronald Davis. Surviving are one daughter;Mrs.Joseph (Connie) Lucas of Belle Vernon;with whom he made his home;one sister;Hassell Greene of Alcoa;Tenn.;nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Bill Bailey of the Free Methodist Church of Monongahela officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
