Obituary

John D.Brickey,80,of 727 Green St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Nov.24,1994,at 6 a.m. in Millie K's Personal Care Home,Belle Vernon. Born Sept.30,1914,in Townsend,Tenn.,he was the son of the late George and Martha Brickey. Mr.Brickey lived in Belle Vernon the past 24 years and was formerly a resident of the state of California. He was a member of the National Maritime Union,where he was a Merchant Marine Able-Bodied Seaman. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Ruby Brickey,in 1966,and a son,Ronald Davis. Surviving are one daughter,Mrs.Joseph (Connie) Lucas of Belle Vernon,with whom he made his home,one sister,Hassell Greene of Alcoa,Tenn.,nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Bill Bailey of the Free Methodist Church of Monongahela officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
