Obituary

William H.Barker,Sr.,78,of Eggers Avenue,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Aug.4,1994,at his home. Born Sept.7,1915,in Monessen,he was the son of the late Albert and Lillian Henry Barker. Mr.Barker was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,Fayette City. He was retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation and from Nix Optical Company,Charleroi. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Elizabeth Hough Barker,who died Dec.17,1976. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law,Albert David and Deborah Barker of Wichita,Kan.,and William H.Barker Jr.of Elizabeth,seven grandchildren,Allyson Barker of Altlanta,Ga.,Ashley Barker of Valdosta,Ga.,Aaron Barker of Pavo,Ga.,and Ann E.,Brian,Adam and Eric Barker,all of Wichita,Kan.,two brothers,Albert (Ted) Barker of Monessen and Edward Barker of Belle Vernon,and one sister,Mary Ellen Henry of Independence,Mo. He is also survived by a very personal friend,Carolyn (Betty) Peters of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday until 11 a.m.in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,when services will be held with Elders Thomas Hamer and William Mines co-officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home.
