Charles F.Blacka Sr.;84;of Monongahela;died Friday;April 15;1994;in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Nov.8;1909;in Belle Vernon;he was the son of the late Edward E.and Anna Gauden Blacka. A resident of Fairhope for the majority of his life;Mr.Black lived in Monongahela the past seven years. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon;and served for many years as the fire chief of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;where he had been a foreman. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Ethel M.Barnes Blacka;who died Oct.29;1985. Surviving are two sons;Charles F.Blacka Jr.of Monessen and Edward E.Blacka of Plum Borough;a daughter;Gail Koslosky of Carroll Township;one sister;Marybelle Coughanour of Fairhope;six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m.with the Rev.William Bailey of the Free Methodist Church;Monongahela;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
