Obituary

Charles F.Blacka Sr.,84,of Monongahela,died Friday,April 15,1994,in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Nov.8,1909,in Belle Vernon,he was the son of the late Edward E.and Anna Gauden Blacka. A resident of Fairhope for the majority of his life,Mr.Black lived in Monongahela the past seven years. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon,and served for many years as the fire chief of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,where he had been a foreman. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Ethel M.Barnes Blacka,who died Oct.29,1985. Surviving are two sons,Charles F.Blacka Jr.of Monessen and Edward E.Blacka of Plum Borough,a daughter,Gail Koslosky of Carroll Township,one sister,Marybelle Coughanour of Fairhope,six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m.with the Rev.William Bailey of the Free Methodist Church,Monongahela,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
