Betty (Faranato) Briggs,64,of Charleroi died Wednesday,March 15,1989,in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Aug. 9,1924,in Charleroi,a daughter of the late John and Nell Walker Faranto. She was a resident of Charleroi her entire life. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Charleroi. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by one brother, John Ernest Faranto;and one sister, Matilda Faranto Greco. Survivors include her husband,Cecil W. Briggs;two sons,Kenneth Briggs of North Charleroi and Robert Briggs of Charleroi; two daughters, Mrs. John (Cecelia) Overbeay of Columbus, Ohio,and Nancy Briggs of Charleroi;eight grandsons;and two brothers, William R. Jones of Fallowfield Twp.and Charles Jones in Florida. Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Francis M. Blair officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
