Obituary

Anton (Tony) Blatnik of Johnson Hollow,Fayette City R.D.1,died Wednesday,Nov.6,1985,at 7:55 a.m. in the Haven Crest Nursing Home,Carroll Twp. He was 89. Mr.Blatnik was born Jan.15,1896,in Yugoslavia,a son of the late Anton and Frances Blatnik. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,the United Mineworkers of America,and the S.N.P.J.Lodge No.224,Fayette City. In addition to his parents,Mr.Blatnik was preceded in death by a daughter,Josephine,in 1969,and by a son,John,in 1985. Surviving are his widow,Anna Sladich Blatnik,of Fayette City,R.D.1,three sons,Anthony,at home,George,of Scott Twp.,and Thomas of Monongahela,R.D.,two daughters,Mrs.Robert (Frances) Winn of Virginia Beach,Va.,and Mrs.Michael (Barbara) Lipp of Reynoldsburg,Ohio,21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. A Wake Service will be held Friday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. A Prayer Service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,with Rev.Thomas G.Rinn,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon,Pa. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
