Obituary

John (Jack) Marshal Bevan Jr of 43 Bradbury Street,Uniontown,died Saturday,Dec.8,1984,at 6:10 a.m. at his home. He was 62. Mr.Bevan was born July 12,1922, in Charleroi,a son of the late John M.and Phyllis Murray Bevan Sr. He was employed as an engineer for the Olin Corporation. Mr.Bevan was a veteran of World War II having served in the Merchant Marines. Survivors include his wife,Dorothy White Bevan,two sons,John M.Bevan III of Oakland,Calif.,and Bruce A.Bevan of Uniontown,one brother,Marvin Bevan of Belle Vernon,five sisters,Nancy Jones of Donora,Marilyn Markelwicz of Belle Vernon,Priscilla Stickle and Doris Bevan,both of Charleroi,and Jane Thomas of Uniontown,and one grandson,Ian Bevan of San Luis Obispo,Calif. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held on Tuesday,Dec.11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Gerald McCormick,pstor of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home,Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
