John (Jack) Marshal Bevan Jr of 43 Bradbury Street;Uniontown;died Saturday;Dec.8;1984;at 6:10 a.m. at his home. He was 62. Mr.Bevan was born July 12;1922; in Charleroi;a son of the late John M.and Phyllis Murray Bevan Sr. He was employed as an engineer for the Olin Corporation. Mr.Bevan was a veteran of World War II having served in the Merchant Marines. Survivors include his wife;Dorothy White Bevan;two sons;John M.Bevan III of Oakland;Calif.;and Bruce A.Bevan of Uniontown;one brother;Marvin Bevan of Belle Vernon;five sisters;Nancy Jones of Donora;Marilyn Markelwicz of Belle Vernon;Priscilla Stickle and Doris Bevan;both of Charleroi;and Jane Thomas of Uniontown;and one grandson;Ian Bevan of San Luis Obispo;Calif. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.;226 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi;where services will be held on Tuesday;Dec.11; at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Gerald McCormick;pstor of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home;Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
