Obituary

Frank Babich Sr.of Fayette City R.D.1died Monday,Jan.16,1981,at 12:05 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. He was 69. Mr.Babich was born Jan.14,1915,in Fayette City,a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Benyak Babich Sr. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's No.1 Machine Shop in Monessen. He was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Belle Vernon. Surviving are his wife,Christine Roman Babich,at home,one son,Frank Babich Jr.of Perryopolis,one daughter,Mrs.Richard (Jeanne) Rathway of Perryopolis R.D.2,five grandchildren,Frank Matthew,Ted A.and Christine L.Babich and Larissa and David Rathway,four sisters,Mrs.Ellen Barota of Perryopolis R.D.2,Mrs.Madaline Uchelvich and Mrs.Betty bednar,both of Fayette City,and Mrs.Mary Blanchard of Phoenix,Ariz.,and five brothers,John,Andrew,Michael and Paul Babich,all of Fayette City,and Samuel Babich of Daisytown R.D.1 Mr.Babich was preceded in death by two brothers,Joseph Babich in 1973,and Charles Babich Jr.in 1982. Friends will be received in the Blair-Lowther Funeral home,Inc.,Perryopolis,Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Parastas service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. A Prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home,followed by Divine Liturgy in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.John Kluchko,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Blair-Lowther Funeral home Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
