Obituary

Anold J. (Diz) Beneccio of 1242 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,died Friday, Sept. 30,1983 at 9:20 p.m. at his home following a brief illness. He was 76.  Mr. Beneccio was born July 27,1907,in Monessen, a son of the late Carmello and Madeline Beneccio. Prior to his retirement in 1972,Mr. Beneccio worked in the open hearth pit at the Monessen Plant of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a veteran of World War II,having served with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents,Mr. Beneccio was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugo and Caesar,and two sisters, Alvina and Alba. He was a member of St. Cajetan Catholic Church,the Eagles Club,New Italian Hall,Sons of Italy and the Hilltop Club,all of Monessen.  He was also a member of the Belle Vernon Legion. Survivors include his wife, Edith Salvino Beneccio; one son, Carmen of Monessen;two grandsons, Vito and Marcello; two brothers, Albert of Monessen and Cyril of Tidioute and two sisters, Margaret of Monessen and Violet of Cleveland,Ohio. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,where services will be held Monday, Oct. 3,at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. P. Lino Ramellini,pastor of St. Cajetan Catholic Church of Monessen, officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital through the funeral home.  The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
