Services were held at 10 a.m. today for Walter S.Boord;of 407 Eastgate Manor;Monessen;who died Saturday at 10 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 70. Mr.Boord was born April 8;1912;in Monessen;a son of the late Oro and Mary Henline Boord. He retired in 1964 from employment at the former Donora Works of U.S.Steel Corporation. A Protestant by faith;Mr.Boord was preceded in death by three brothers;James;Melvin L.and Howard Boord. Survivors include his wife;Mary Diethorne Boord;at home;two sons;Walter S.Boord;Jr.;of Monessen;and Melvin W.Boord of Scottdale;nine grandchildren;one great-grandchild;three sisters;Mrs.Virginia Pireaux of Charleroi;Mrs.Don (Lillian) Lawson of Uniontown;and Mrs.Maurio (Rebecca) Bonitati of Charleroi;and two brothers;Warren Boord of West Newton and Harold Boord of Monessen. The Rev.James B.Bailey;pastor;Presbyterian Church;Monongahela;officiated at services held at the Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
