Born June 23;1906;in Winston-Salem;N.C.;a daughter of the late Elzir and Lilly Gravely Carter;Mrs.Bright was a Monessen resident for 55 years. Mrs.Carter was a member of the Church of the First Born;Winston-Salem. Survivors include five sons;John Bright Jr.;Roscoe Bright;Leroy Bright;all of Monessen and Benjamin Bright of Springfield;Mass.;two daughters;Mrs.Maurice (Margaret) Robertson of Washington;Pa.;and Mary Ann (Chickie) Owens of Monessen;a brother;Arealous Carter of Pittsburgh;a sister;Mrs.Roy Ross of pricedale;25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband;John Bright Sr.;in 1977;four sons;Joshway;Ernie;Willis and Elzir and three daughters;Elsie Mae;Lilly and Viola. Friends will be received in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.in the Mt.Calvary Baptist Church;Monessen;with Brother Alexander Shelton of the Church of the First Born;Winston-Salem;N.C.;officiating.
