Margaret C. Briggs of 925 Shady Ave.,Charleroi,died Wednesday,Sept. 10,1980 at 1:55 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Twp. Mrs. Briggs,who was 77,was the mother of Frederick and David Briggs,two former Charleroi Borough councilmen,both of whom survive and reside in Charleroi. She was born Sept. 18,1902,in Elco, a daughter of the late Frederick and Louise Briesach Steinmiller. Mrs. Briggs was preceded in death by her husband,David Briggs,in 1936. She was a member of the Charleroi Presbyterian Church,and the Golden Agers and Senior Citizens,both of Charleroi. Surviving, in addition to sons Frederick and David,is another son,Cecil Briggs,of Charleroi;five daughters, Mrs. Louis (Virginia) Isabello, Mrs. Carl (Geraldine) Stasicha,Mrs. Louis (Ella) Nichols and Carrol (Shirley) Simmons,all fo Charleroi,and Mrs. Jordon (Harriet) Lorenzi of Fayette City;22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home,Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Charleroi Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Francis M. Blair,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home,Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
