Nick Bennett of 128 Nagy St.,Arnold City,Washington Twp., died Saturday,June 7,1980,at 12:35 p.. in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr. Bennett was 60. He was born Oct. 17,1919,in Washington Twp., Fayette County,Pa.,a son of the late Joseph and Sophia Kostalec Bennett. A Protestant by faith,Mr. Bennett was a retired coal miner employed by the Mathies Mine. He was a member of Local Union 2244 of the United Mine Workers of America. (UMWA). Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Mildred Barney Bennett,at home; three sons,Joseph of Winston-Salem,N.C.,Daniel of Belle Vernon and Dennis,serving with the U.S.Navy at the Great Lakes Training Center, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Mike and Mark Bennett,both of Belle Vernon;four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Severovic,Mrs. Goldie Ercegovic and Mrs. Joan Venable,all of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs. Mary Bieleski of Monessen and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert,in 1945. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 1 p.m.,with the Rev. Kenneth Neiderhiser,pastor of the Church of the Nazarene,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery
