Obituary

Samuel Benedetti,732 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,March 15,1978,at 11:05 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 75. Born in Italy,June 30,1902,he was the son of the late William and Sarah Barli Benedetti. He was a resident of Belle Vernon for 50 years. Mr.Benedetti had been employed as a foreman at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel No.4 Hot Mill,Allenport Plant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon and was past board member and president of both the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly and the Charleroi Golden Agers. He was also a memeber of the Monessen and Fayette City Golden Agers and the Senior Citizens of Monessen. Mr.Benedetti is survived by his widow,Elsie Maund Benedetti,one son,Dr.William R.Benedetti of Elizabeth Twp.,dean of education at California State College,three brothers,Bruno,Reno and Adelmo Benedetti,all of Cleveland,Ohio,one sister,Mrs.Octavia Hogue of Cleveland,Ohio,and two grandchildren,Dr.William L.Benedetti of Versailles and Robert K.Benedetti of White Oak. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.in the funeral home,with Rev.Charles Colas,pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
