Elizabeth Alton, 92, formerly of Fayette Street, Belle Vernon, died Friday, April 25, 1997, in Haven Crest Nursing Center, Carroll Township. Born in North Belle Vernon on May 26, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Kate Truxal Harvey. Mrs. Alton was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon, its United Methodist Womens Club and the church's Ruth Circle. She was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Stanton Alton;one daughter,Rosa Elizabeth Alton on June 7,1990;two sisters,Lydia Hale on Feb. 14,1997 and Annastasia Osborne;one brother,Winfield Harvey on Sept. 20,1993. Survivors include one sister,Mary DuBarr of North Charleroi. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.with the Rev. S. Miles McConnell,pastor of the First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
